Bathurst 12hr day one
It’s a well know fact that convincing me to attend motorsport events isn’t very hard, but when i heard that the public attendance numbers for the Bathurst 12hr were far less of then that of V8’s I was in. All the usual benefits of Bathurst; camping at the race track, the atmosphere and epic weather. But with none of the downsides like crushing crowds or expensive campsites with waiting lists like you get at the V8’s.
Soooooooooo…. If you’re looking for a second fix of this phenomenal racetrack look no further!
Here’s why:
- Campsites within the track were as low as $70 bucks for the full weekend.
- The facilities are top notch, with new and clean toilets and showers.
- The roads in, out and around track campsites are all made, meaning no dust!
- The atmosphere is relaxed and you’re sharing the facilities with race drivers and epic vehicles.
- Not to mention access to the pits is included with a camping permit.
Because this event attracts international attention all kinds of beautiful masterpieces take to the track. The 2014 line up is promising, with V8 Supercar drivers like Craig Lowndes and Rick Kelly playing hosts to a massive field of mixed locals and international drivers. This year we are lucky enough to see the resurgence of the Nissan GTR with Rick Kelly, Alex Buncombe & Katsumasa Chiyo racing for the team. This Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 is a brilliant race car, after just one practice session Rick Kelly had managed to get his second fastest time ever around the mountain. This proves that the Nissan has the goods and will be chasing a top 5 position.
More to come!
