2013 French Car Festival

French cars are renown for having quirky styling and interesting details. At the French Car Festival there were plenty of examples of this. The Citroen SM is the only car I ever recall seeing where the front numberplate is neatly recessed behind a full width headlight cover. This must be good for aerodynamics – it’s hard to understand why it hasn’t been done on more cars.

My favourite of the show would have to be the 1960s Renault Alpine A110. It has such a purposeful stance, you know it means business.

Williamstown on a sunny Sunday afternoon can be a good place to see sports cars, even if there are no events on. Like for example the Ferrari 458 I photographed driving down the main street!
