Lotus DECA Day

Shepparton with the Lotus Club VIC!

Today I regressed to a nine year old version of myself; it was like Christmas had come early. I was afforded a rare opportunity to drive a Lotus Excige S on the Track at DECA!

Wow! what a car! – suddenly I understand the Lotus obsession/passion carried by the green and gold enthusiasts.

It was a fantastic day, with great company and amazing cars.

The Lotus club opened the skid pan for a series of extremely tight and quick motokahna tracks. I was lucky to exit first gear! The tightness really made me appreciate the handling of the Excige.

We also had the opportunity to use the large back track which, if I’m honest is in real need of some work. The degraded surface and close proximity to trees at high speed did make me nervous. And since I was in a car I didn’t own, that wouldn’t be insured whist at DECA, I could only drive at 80%. There will be a full review coming, so stay tuned.

In the mean time, check out the videos and pics below.

About the author: Lloyd Waldron

Cars are more then transport, they represent more than freedom or independence and they are a part of our identity. Cars reflect the personality of their owners. You can instantly tell if the owner takes pride in themselves; you'll know if they have a messy bedroom and occasionally you'll guess their sense of humor. Cars say so much about people, so I figure I should say something about them..
