FIRE EXTINGUISHER ADVICE
Its a common sight during scrutineering to spy 1 or 2 blokes in the line frantically trying to install a fire extinguisher or replace one at the scrutineers request.
To save you some angst here are a couple of quick tips:
When buying a fire extinguisher make sure you it complies with CAMS Requirements (see an excerpt below)
Check the manufacture date! You have to replace your extinguisher within 3 years of the manufacture date, regardless of it still has pressure. Some resellers have slow moving stock and you could end up having to replace yours sooner.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CARS AND DRIVERS
1. GENERAL
Each automobile in any competition other than non-speed events (except where noted in specific Group
Regulations) or Race meetings must be equipped with a fire extinguisher which complies with the following
conditions and is properly fitted at a suitable location.
1.1 Hand-held fire extinguishers:
(i) must remain restrained under an acceleration of 25G;
(ii) must be capable of removal by the driver (or crew, where applicable) without the aid of tools.
1.2 Plumbed-in fire extinguishers: Each plumbed-in fire extinguisher shall be fitted in accordance with FIA
Appendix J, Article 253-7.
