2014 Formula 1 Ferrari Celebration

Last weekend a special Ferrari pre-GP race promotion was held at Piazza Italia near Lygon St in Melbourne.

The main attraction of the event, Formula 1 Ferrari Celebration, was a Ferrari F138 Formula 1 racing car. This particular chassis was named to represent the 2013 racing year, and also to mark the final season that Formula One would use V8 engines. It was interesting to have the opportunity to have a close look at some of the aerodynamic fairings and wind deflectors on the racing car. The pattern of the wheel rim was a stylish touch also I wasn’t expecting to see.

The F138 F1 was supported by a selection of distinctive Ferrari road cars, including an beautiful 246 GTS Dino Spyder. My personal favorite was the iconic F40 present. Even though the design is now over a quarter of a century old, it still looks the business! Model Kara Bramham also checked out the Ferrari promotion (Her favorite from the event was the 599 Fiorano).

Proving that sometimes Melbourne doesn’t always have four seasons in one day, that afternoon the weather was perfect, warm and sunny. Hopefully during this year’s Melbourne F1 Grand Prix on Sunday 16 March it is the same!
