Go Karts getting dirty!

On this sunny Sunday afternoon I found myself in Wallaroo whilst touring in South Australia.
Driving down the main stretch something caught my eye, it was a motorcade of go kart trailers!
I followed in hot pursuit (to the speed limit) were I found a gathering at the Yorke Peninsula Dirt Kart Club.
It was a Rookie DAY!

The facilities and track were well presented and in amazing condition. But what really blew my mind was watching these Karts drifting around a dirt track! It was spectacular and for several moments i found myself entertaining the thought of this style of Motorsport.
It has several obvious advantages to regular Motorsport:

  • Relatively low setup cost
  • Family friendly
  • Low maintenance costs
  • High satisfaction
  • Low speed, but epic control and a “fast feeling”

I admit I went a bit snap happy! But shooting the karts was also loads of fun.
I’ll keep an eye out for these events in future 🙂

Cars are more then transport, they represent more than freedom or independence and they are a part of our identity. Cars reflect the personality of their owners. You can instantly tell if the owner takes pride in themselves; you'll know if they have a messy bedroom and occasionally you'll guess their sense of humor. Cars say so much about people, so I figure I should say something about them..
