RACV Classic Showcase
Back in April the RACV Classic Showcase was held at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Australia. There was a number of lovely Aston Martins at the show, including some of the most iconic models – DB4, DB5, DB6, 1960’s DBS, DB7, and a Vanquish & modern Vantage.
The most distinctive car at the show in my opinion would have to be the Zagato inspired DBSZ by Brooklands Classic Cars. Created using a genuine Aston Martin DBS as a starting point, it’s about as close to owning a real 1960’s DB4GT Zagato as you can get. This particular car (http://www.brooklandscc.com/cars/view/347) is currently for sale, for a mere AUD$388,950. Considering any original 60s Zagato is ultra rare and worth millions, and the DBSZ actually has superior performance & handling, (It’s based on a later model which has improved suspension, a wider track & better brakes) this car represents excellent value for money in my opinion. It’s not cheap, but worth every cent!
Another car which really impressed me was this superbly finished Austin Healey roadster. The re-trimmed interior is flawless. They simply don’t come any better than this.
